JEE Main 2017 - CBSE has declared the JEE Main result 2017 on April 27, 2017 for Paper 1 along with the Score and All India Rank (AIR) of candidates. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had conducted JEE Main 2017 on April 2 (offline) and April 8 & 9 (online). JEE Main 2017 is the largest undergraduate engineering entrance test in the country for admissions to the UG engineering / architecture courses at the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. After the result and JEE main cutoff is declared, candidates can know if they are amongst the 2,20,000 top candidates of JEE Main who will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Main 2017 result for paper 2 will be announced on May 27. The JEE Main Official Answer Key 2017 was available from April 18 along with the recorded responses of the candidates. This year, Class XII marks will not be considered while computing the JEE Main ranks. However as per the new eligibility criteria, candidates will now require a minimum of 75% in their Class XII (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile of their states to be eligible for the admissions to the NITs, GFTIs and the IIITs which are participating in the common counselling through JoSAA. The rank list of JEE Main 2017 has been released by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on April 27 along with the result. The All India Ranks of the applicants has been announced through the rank list. The normalised scores of 12th standard examination will not be counted anymore for the decision of the ranking. The JEE Main Rank List 2017 will display the All India rank of the candidate along with the All India Category rank. The All India Rank will be used by JoSAA for admissions while the other ranks are for information only.
JEE Main Cutoff 2017
The cutoff of JEE Main 2017 has been announced by CBSE on April 27 along with the result. The cutoff of JEE Main consists of the closing ranks or minimum scores that all applicants will have to obtain to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2017. Candidates who dont meet the cutoff will not be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. However they can participate in the counselling of JEE Main that will be held through JoSAA in June.

JEE Main 2017 acts as a gateway for applicants into the various prestigious engineering institutes of India. The participating institutes of JEE Main 2017 includes 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 19 Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). Some of the states like Haryana, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha also offer admissions to undergraduate engineering aspirants in their respective colleges on the basis of JEE Main 2017 scores. Some of the reputed private engineering colleges also offer admission based on the JEE scores.
JEE Main Counselling 2017
The counselling session of JEE Main 2017 is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Only those candidates who have qualified in JEE Main 2017 will be able to participate in the counselling session. JEE main qualified candidates will have to register themselves and select their preferred college and course. Online allocation of seats will be done based on the applicant’s All India Rank in JEE Main, category, availability of seats and other factors. After the seat allocation is done, the applicants will have to report at their allotted institute for document verification and fee payment. JoSAA conducts 6 rounds of counselling and the applicants will be allotted into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
